Percussion (all ages)

Instructor: TBD

This is a fun introductory drum set class for beginners. Students will work on basic technique, improvisation, and performance for drum set. The class will work on individual pieces as well as ensemble works. No experience is necessary. Join us for a fun group learning experience.

Introduction to Drawing NEW!

Instructor: Taylor Crouch

Drawing is one of the most important activities students can do. Drawing not only provides the basis for other creative activities – like painting, sculpture and printmaking – but it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. This group lesson provides a thorough and engaging introduction to drawing. Students learn how to draw with proper techniques, learning how to represent what they see through studies in contour drawing, perspective, positive/negative space, and value. By the end of the course, students will capture a complex still life.

Instructor: Rebecca Rapoport Cole

Students will learn the basic principles of piano playing, begin to learn to read sheet music, engage in rhythm games and activities, create their own weekly compositions to be performed for their classmates, as well as play imaginative music and movement games.  All levels welcome!

Musical Theater Jazz (ages 7-12) NEW!

Instructor: Ingrid Oslund

This group lesson will take classic styles and conventions used in Musical Theater to teach techniques important to any budding performer. This class will touch on the basics of tap, ballet, and jazz combined in high energy dance numbers from well-known musicals. This class will also focus on the theatricality of the movement, how to keep your face engaged and properly “act the dance” onstage

Guitar (All Ages) POPULAR!

Instructor: Morgan Bernhard

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of the guitar as played with a pick and/or fingers. The focus will be on learning to play songs, which will be chosen by the instructor and students together. Song arrangements will be created for the students in each class and rehearsed for star performance(s).

Young Actors NEW!

This lesson gives students the opportunity to participate in creative and dramatic activities.  Participants will have the chance to participate in skits and play different roles – while being encouraged to think creatively and work in teams.
