About Nicole Kootz

“I am grateful that my days are filled with watching students achieve milestones big and small.” Nicole is a classically trained violist and violinist that currently teaches full time. She maintains a private studio in Watertown, a second studio for the North End Music and Performing Arts Center in Boston, and leads group violin classes at Newton Chinese Language School. Invested in continuing education, she has completed teacher training in Suzuki Violin Books 1-4, and a M.M in String Performance on viola at Boston University in 2016. She is currently in her second year of a 1600 hour training course for Alexander Technique Certification. Setting performance goals aside for the time being and pursing training in Alexander Technique stems from seeing a constant flow of pain and injuries in music students and professionals alike. Knowing how difficult it can be to play while in pain, Nicole wishes to incorporate Alexander Technique into her daily teaching so that students can realize their full potential without hindrance.
