NEMPAC 2018 Opera Project: Don Giovanni will feature children in The Great Hall at Faneuil Hall.

NEMPAC is seeking 8 young performers, children ages 9-13, to audition for Don Giovanni under the direction of Rebecca Miller (Artistic and Stage Director). They will be featured in a large ensemble non-singing scene in Act 1.

The young artists selected will learn technique, the ins and outs and the art of creating a memorable and unique performance with a group of exceptional professional performers as their peers.

Auditions for CHILDREN: Friday, April 6, 2018 at 6 pm at 9 Hull Street classroom, North End. To sign up for an audition for your child, please email Allie Meek (Children Coordinator) at ameek@nempacboston.org or call 617-227-2270. Deadline to sign up for an audition is March 30th.

Rehearsals: Once a week (weekday evening) starting in June. Tech week and dress rehearsals will be held the evenings of June 18, 19, 20, and all performers must attend.

Performances: Thursday, June 21 and Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Faneuil Hall.

We ask children to come prepared with a monologue or their favorite song that highlights their acting. Allie Meek (Theater Instructor) will lead a character/movement workshop as a warm up.

About NEMPAC’s 2018 Opera Project: Don Giovanni:
Based on the legend of Don Juan, this opera presents a tragic comedy that explores the political and social themes of gender, power, and autonomy through a dynamic score. The cast, alongside NEMPAC students, will perform the work in the original Italian with orchestral accompaniment.
