This concert, titled “Seeking Sanctuary: A Viola & Piano Recital” features two performers who are local landmarks in the classical music scene in our city – Ashleigh Gordon, violist, http://www.violashe.com, an outstanding viola player and Director of the award-winning group ‘Castle of our Skins’, http://www.castleskins.org – and celebrated chamber musician and pianist Joy Cline Phinney: http://www.castleskins.org/joy-cline-phinney.html

This promises to be a wonderful event with beautiful music that is underrepresented in the classical music community, with two performers who not only play with conviction, depth and facility, but educate and inform the audience about black classical music composers, both past and present.
