DESCRIPTION:Open Mic Nights are BACK at Boston Public Market for fall 2025!  Join us on Friday\, October 10th at 6 PM for our next installment! Come nosh with the market’s vendors\, grab a drink at the Pine Bar and enjoy live\, local music. Performance registration will open two weeks prior to the date of the event. *We ask now that audience members also register to attend along with our performers. \nRegister to Perform and Attend \nWe hope you will join us back at Boston Public Market for our first Open Mic Night of our 2025/2026 season. \nWhen: Friday\, October 10th. Doors open at 5:30 PM\, performances begin at 6 PM.   Registration is will be live a couple of weeks before the date of the event. \nWho: ANYONE can sign up to perform as long as they are 18+\, and all are welcome to attend. DESCRIPTION:Opera on the Prado\nNEMPAC’s pop-up Opera on the Prado features Boston-based emerging artists performing in the most historic and beautiful park in the North End. Located on the Freedom Trail\, next to the Paul Revere Statue and just behind Old North Church\, passersby\, neighbors\, and friends can catch singers performing.  This concert performed on the Prado features an “Oktoberfest” theme of German classical music. \nArtistic Director\, Hannah Shanefield \nDate: Saturday\, October 18th | Time: 1 PM – 3 PM \nWhere: The Prado\, Paul Revere Mall\, Hanover Street\, Boston\, MA 02113 \nNo need to register to attend.  Just stroll on by The Prado! \n\n \n\n\n \nDylan Evans\, baritone\nBaritone Dylan Evans (he/him) is an international artist who has performed all over the United States and Canada. Most recently\, Mr. Evans covered the title role in Verdi’s Rigoletto with Boston Summer Opera and premiered a new folk opera by Steven Bergman titled Murder\, Meth and Mayhem\, performing as Slim/Judge. He debuted with New York Lyric Opera as Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and as Dr. Falke in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus. Other roles include Eisenstein\, Sid\, King Melchior\, Peter\, Count Almaviva\, Marco\, Der Sprecher\, Motorcycle Cop/Guard 1\, and Don Giovanni. \n\n \n\n\n \nNaré Kim\, soprano\nKorean soprano Naré Kim (she/her)\, acclaimed for her “highly expressive phrasing” and “shimmering warmth of sound\,” has performed with MassOpera\, Boston Singers’ Resource\, and Korea National Opera. Her roles include Morgana\, Sidonie\, Night\, Zerlina\, Hanna\, Musetta\, and Mimì. She holds degrees from Seoul National University and was an Apprenticeship Artist at San Diego Opera. She earned first prize in the La Jolla Symphony Young Artist Competition and second prize in the Virginia Hawk Competition. \n\n \n\n\n \nJacob LyteHaven\, pianist\nJacob LyteHaven (he/him) holds degrees in Piano and Vocal Performance from Stetson University and a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Boston University. He has performed across the U.S.\, Europe\, and Central America\, and has worked as a staff pianist and vocal coach at several institutions. He also made a striking international debut in Paris as the Tenor Soloist in the world premiere of Richard J. Clark’s TE DEUM at the stunning L’Église de Saint François de Sales. \n\n\n\n \nLarisa Bainton Hernandez\, soprano\nLarisa Bainton Hernandez (she/her) is a soprano\, educator\, and multi-media creative from Atlanta\, GA\, now living in the Boston area. Her artistic interests center around increasing opera’s accessibility through visual storytelling. Her work has been recognized by the Boston Globe\, OperaWire\, WBUR\, and Bachtrack; and in 2021\, the Eastman School of Music named her one of the “Outstanding Eastman Women” of the year for her innovative digital production of Hänsel und Gretel. Her recent projects include an immersive production of Die Fledermaus\, and a recital with graphics and animations created by Larisa. \n\n\n\n \nJulian Gau\, pianist\nJulian Gau (he/him) is a pianist and conductor based in Boston. While this is his debut with NEMPAC Opera Project\, he has performed in concert with Opera on Tap\, Boston Summer Opera\, and West End Lyric. As a opera conductor\, he has served as music director for The Pirates of Penzance with Boston Summer Opera\, Alcina with MassOpera\, Die Fledermaus with The Opera Company\, Katie the Strongest of the Strong with Opera Saratoga\, and Cabaret at Brown University. He has also served as assistant conductor and coach for Is This America? with White Snake Projects\, as well as Don Giovanni and Rigoletto with Boston Summer Opera. In the orchestral world\, he serves as music director of the Horizon Ensemble\, the Providence Medical Orchestra\, and the Chinese Music Ensemble of New York. DESCRIPTION:For over ten years\, Scanzonati has brought audiences on a journey where Italian songwriting meets jazz harmonies\, Mediterranean sounds\, and improvisation. Founded by vocalist Stefano Marchese and bassist-arranger Andrea Pejrolo\, the ensemble has performed in numerous concerts at Berklee — but this evening marks their debut at the prestigious Berklee Performance Center\, a milestone moment in their artistic journey. \nThis special concert\, presented as part of the Week of the Italian Language in the World\, will feature music from their celebrated repertoire along with new arrangements that highlight the richness of the Italian Songbook. \nOn this occasion\, Scanzonati will be joined by the Berklee World Strings\, under the direction of Grammy Award–winning cellist and composer Eugene Friesen\, together with many distinguished guest artists.
