JUNE PMI and Class Students of the Month
CONGRATULATIONS to……………. Ferdinand Carangelo our NEMPAC PMI Student of the Month, and Charlie Ellrodt our NEMPAC Class Student of the Month for June!
Here’s what their instructors, Ethen DePuy and Stefano Marchese had to say:
“One of the best things about beginning my teaching career at NEMPAC this year is that I’ve been fortunate enough to inherit many talented students from my predecessors. From day one, it was clear to me that Ferdinand is the kind of student who puts hard work and effort into practicing his piano pieces to near-perfection. However, what I’ve been most impressed by is the strides that he’s made this year in his ability to communicate emotion through his music making. A piece like Tchaikovsky’s In Church requires the pianist to be both accurate and communicative. Once Ferdinand started to look beyond the notes and rhythms on the page, I think he discovered something completely new in the music. I’m very proud of him and I’m looking forward to seeing his continued growth in the 2018-2019 school year!” – Mr. DePuy
“Charlie’s musical talent lit up this month’s Eliot Band and ensemble performances. From being a beginner on trumpet in September, in only 9 months, Charlie was able to perform a variety of styles sharing his love and passion for music. He performed with the Eliot Band Program in all their concerts: Eliot Music Concert at the Prado, BPS Arts Citywide Festival, and twice at Faneuil Hall. He also had the opportunity to perform at the Eliot Lower School with professional musicians from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute! Bravo Charlie!” – Mr. Marchese
Congratulations, Ferdinand and Charlie!
