Have a kid that loves to move? Does your child also love to act and perform? Join us for La Cenerentola– KIDS auditions on Saturday, February 6th for a chance to be part of the NEMPAC Opera Project!
What: The NEMPAC Opera Project, entering our 5th season, is excited to announce our June 2016 production of La Cenerentola! This professional production, the Italian version of Cinderella, will be fully staged and performed with orchestra at Faneuil Hall, The Great Hall!
Dates: June 23rd-25th, 2016 with a Community Outreach Performance on June 26th, 2016.
One extra special componenet of our opera this year is that we will feature a select group of young performers in a special staging of the opera overture ( the first 10 minutes of the performance).
Professional Choreographer, Alia Roberts, will be choreographing the overture to the opera with a movement piece telling the story of how Cinderella came to be. 8 students will be selected to be featured in this dance/movement piece and have the opportunity to perform as part of the NEMPAC Opera Project. This is a movement and acting, not singing opportunity.
Other elements include working with a cast of professional singers and actors, working with a professional artistic team and getting to dance on the Faneuil Hall stage to the music of Rossini played by an outstanding orchestra!
Auditions: Interested performers are encouraged to sign up for an audition. Auditions will be Saturday, February 6th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Nazzaro Center. There is no fee to audition. There is nothing to prepare for the audition, just come and move with us!
No Dance Experience Necessary!
- Kids must be 7 and up to audition.
Fees: There is a fee of $150.00 to participate for all selected performers. This fee covers participation in all movement workshops, rehearsals and performances.

Friday, June 3rd: 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Saturday, June 4th: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm
Friday, June 10th: 4:00- 6:00 pm
Saturday, June 11th: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
June 12th: First rehearsal with main stage cast-
Approx 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm ( subject to change)
June 16th: 6-7:30 pm ( Boston University- Orchestra rehearsal and choreography brush up)
June 18th: TBA call, approx 1 hour between 4-7 pm. Faneuil Hall, the Great Hall
June 20th: Dress Rehearsal 1 – approx call, 5:30 -7:30 pm
June 21st: Dress Rehearsal 2- approx call, 5:30-8:30 pm
June 23rd- June 26th: 4 performances. Call time TBA
