NEMPAC Opera Project Hosts Auditions for “The Little Prince”
NEMPAC Opera Project is hosting AUDITIONS seeking artists—youth and adults—for our upcoming 2019 Mainstage Professional Production “The Little Prince” that will take place at Faneuil Hall with performances on June 20th & 22nd, and with a sneak preview at Columbus Park on June 16th. We are looking for Youth Singers ages 8-14 for the Title Lead Role & Youth Ensemble, and Adult Singers for Lead/Comprimario Roles.
Artistic Director Alexandra Dietrich has selected “The Little Prince” Opera setting from Academy Award winner Rachel Portman, based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “The Little Prince” beloved French children’s novel, which debuted at the Houston Grand Opera in 2003, and was last seen in Boston in 2005 at Boston Lyric Opera.
In addition to a carefully selected cast of top-notch professional singers, this opera will feature heavily young singers from the NEMPAC community as the ever present onstage chorus of stars, as well as a young treble singer in the lead role of the Little Prince.
