She holds a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston\, MA. \nSome of her favorite roles to date are The Sandman from Hansel and Gretel with NEC Opera and Despina from Così fan tutte with Chicago Summer Opera. \nJustine\, a classically trained Soprano\, also prides herself on being a versatile singer\, performing in many genres ranging from musical theater to pop to jazz.  In recent years\, Justine has enjoyed singing with various wedding bands across the East Coast and writing and performing music of her own. She also debuted the role of Rosie in At Love’s Hearth\, a musical thesis project written by Stephanie Hollenberg\, Harvard alum. \nJustine’s teaching studio consists of 40+ students of all genres and ages. She holds teaching positions at Amy Dancz Music Studio and North End Music Performing Arts (NEMPAC). \nWhile not singing\, Justine enjoys yoga\, dancing\, baking\, and trying new restaurants with her husband\, Eli. \nJuan Suarez (Baritone): \nBaritone\, Juan Suarez\, is a well established performer in the Boston area\, performing frequently with organizations such as Odyssey Opera\, MassOpera\, Opera Del West\, Boston Opera & Zarzuela\, and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. \nNotable engagements include world music premieres with Catalyst new music in collaboration with Poet Todd Hearon and Composer Jonathan Mitchell; and with Sparks & Wiry Cries in New York City\, premiering an original poem set to music by Composer Laura Nevitt. Juan can also be heard singing in the chorus of Boston Modern Opera Project’s Grammy nominated recording of The Lord of Cries\, written by composer John Corigliano and librettist Mark Adamo. \nRecent and Upcoming engagements include performances as bass soloist in G.F Handel’s Messiah \, an upcoming role debut as Falke in Johann Strauss’ comic Operetta\, Die Fledermaus\, and his third consecutive production with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras in their performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Grand Opera\, Don Carlos.\n \nJuan holds Music Degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music and Stetson University. \nMariangela Gominho (Soprano): \nMariangela Gominho\, Soprano\, is a singer and voice teacher based in Boston\, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Duquesne University and Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. \nDuring her undergraduate studies\, she performed as Suor Genevieve in Suor Angelica and covered the role of Belinda in Dido and Aeneas\, as well as participated in programs at the Franco American Vocal Academy and New England Conservatory’s Summer Opera Studio. \nAs a language lover\, Mariangela has experience performing in various languages\, from Portuguese to Tagalog to Icelandic. In 2016\, she was the first music performance major to receive the prestigious Honors Endowed Fellows Grant at Duquesne University. With the grant\, she studied Icelandic folk and classical music in Iceland and presented the pieces in a public lecture-recital. \nMariangela is the music director of St. Benedict’s Parish in Somerville\, and holds teaching positions at Winsor School\, Cheverus Catholic School\, and Amy Dancz Voice Studio. She also maintains her own private studio. \nWhen not making music\, Mariangela enjoys crafting\, traveling\, and dragging friends to spin class. \nSepehr Davallou (Pianist) \nSepehr is a pianist and vocal coach based in Boston. He has served as an assistant music director for the production of Gluck’s Orfeo at NEMPAC\, and worked as pianist on such productions as Britten’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Miami Music Festival\, “Die Fledermaus” and “Die Zauberflöte” at NEC and also Maryland Opera Studio. \nPassionate about text\, poetry and artsong\, he has appeared on five Liederabend series at NEC spanning repertoire from Mozart to folk and contemporary music. \nHe has attended the Aspen Music Festival\, “Dandelion Opera Institute”\, and “Collaborative Pianist Institute” where he got to work with renowned artists such as Martin Katz\, and Warren Jones. \nSepehr has a BM in Piano Performance from University of Tehran\, an MM in Collaborative Piano from University of Maryland and a Graduate Diploma in Opera Coaching from New England Conservatory.  His mentors are Cameron Stowe\, JJ Penna\, Tanya Blaich and Rita Sloan.

José Soto\, a Costa Rican pianist\, composer\, and educator\, explores free improvisation\, jazz\, classical music\, and Latin American rhythms. He studied at the National University of Costa Rica\, the New England Conservatory\, and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. His album “The Ancestral Call\,” inspired by the Bribri indigenous culture\, won the Gold Medal at the Global Music Awards and was featured in NPR’s Best Alternative Latin Music of 2023\, Jazziz Editor’s Choice\, NBC New York\, and People en Español. Notable jazz musicians such as George Garzone and Francisco Mela contributed to the project. José has toured nationally and internationally\, sharing stages with artists like Luciana Souza\, Francisco Mela\, Danilo Perez\, and Eddie Daniels. He currently teaches at Berklee College in Massachusetts.\n\n \n\n\nABOUT MARIA AMALIA QUESADA:  Singer\, Cultural Manager\, and Educator. Maria Amalia currently lives in Boston\, Massachusetts. She started studying music in Costa Rica at a very young age. Maria Amalia has collaborated and sung with artists such as Danilo Pérez\, Jason Yeager\, Patricia Zarate\, Vardan Ovsepian\, Fernando Huergo\, Tatiana Parra\, Lihi Haruvi\, Connor Kent\, Jacob Jezioro\, Jacob Means\, Daniel Patiño Quintana\, Humberto Vargas\, among others. She had shaped her talent under the guidance of Sofia Rei\, Roxana Amed\, Dominique Eade\, and Rebecca Shrimpton. \nAs a singer and composer\, she co-founded with pianist Jose Soto Bosquejo en Riesgo. This creative music project uses experimentation and improvisation in various genres\, from Latin American folklore to jazz. The group’s music conveys the multicultural experience of these expanding musicians\, approaching different audiences through original compositions and arrangements from the Latin American imaginary. The group has performed in Costa Rica\, Boston\, Cambridge\, USA\, and in festivals in Mexico and Panama. \n\nAs Cultural Manager\, Maria Amalia is co-founder of the Fundacion Armonia Colectiva and Executive Director of the International Jazz Festival of Costa Rica FIJAZZ. She has given different workshops and lectures on cultural management on national and international levels. She has also worked and collaborated in various cultural projects such as the Executive Director of FEDUJAZZ Foundation and the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival in the Dominican Republic and International Coordinator of the Panama Jazz Festival\, among other cultural and social initiatives nationally and internationally.\n\n \n\n \n \nA big thank you to Boston Bottles for sponsoring a wine tasting of South American wines during the intermission of our concerts at Bijou de la Vida Gallery.

DESCRIPTION:Opera on the Prado\nNEMPAC’s pop-up Opera on the Prado will feature Boston-based Emerging Artists from the NEMPAC Opera Project in Boston’s most historic and beautiful park in the North End. Located on the Freedom Trail\, next to the Paul Revere Statue and just behind Old North Church\, passersby\, neighbors\, and friends can catch singers performing. \nDate: Saturday\, October 26th | Time: 2 PM – 4 PM \nWhere: The Prado\, Paul Revere Mall\, Hanover Street\, Boston\, MA 02113 \n\n\n\n\n \nKelley Hollis\nKelley Hollis is a classically trained soprano celebrated for her interpretations of new and lesser-known works. Notable performances include Rosner’s Requiem with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and a concert at Prague Castle with the Americké jaro festival. She holds degrees from Northwestern University and Boston University’s Opera Institute. Her opera credits include roles such as Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus\, Mimi in La bohème\, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. Kelley has performed at Boston Symphony Hall and has been recognized by the Metropolitan Opera National Council. She regularly performs with Boston Baroque\, Boston Lyric Opera\, and Juventas New Music Ensemble. \n\n\n\n \nMelanie Rucinski\nMelanie Rucinski is a Boston-based freelance pianist and accompanist. She has performed with the Cambridge Community Chorus\, NEMPAC Opera Project\, and Metropolitan Chorale. Previously\, she was a collaborative pianist for the Boston Children’s Chorus and the A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Theater Training. Melanie is a choral singer and oboist\, having cofounded and conducted the Lambda Singers chamber choir at Harvard. She is currently the accompanist for the Jameson Singers and a Lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education\, teaching statistics and quantitative methods. \n\n\n\n \nDavid Rivera Bozón\nDavid Rivera Bozón\, a Colombian tenor based in Boston\, is recognized internationally for his extraordinary talent and warm personality. He has performed extensively in opera\, stageworks\, zarzuela\, oratorio\, concerts\, recitals\, and in unconventional venues\, bringing his music to a wide variety of communities. David has been recognized by the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives for his outstanding contributions to cultural and arts events and for promoting the Italian Heritage in the United States. He is currently pursuing studies at the Boston University Opera Institute.
