Ever wonder why people go see Hamlet? NEMPAC’s Board Member and North End Neighbor, Doug Bowen-Flynn aims to look at the various perspectives of Shakespeare’s life and why Shakespeare has made such a legendary impact. Doug is directing and performing in this fabulous event!
Known as the Bard of Avon, Shakespeare’s ingenious craftsmanship with words and portrayals of the human condition has transcended time, entertaining and educating for centuries. Yet, there is so much more to explore. During the course of the evening, you will be taken on a journey into Shakespeare’s life in Stratford, his education and theatrical experience, and the tricky politics of the times. There will be performances of Sonnets 135, 130, 116, and 138, as well as monologues from The Tempest and Troilus and Cressida.
Enjoy a night of Shakespearean humor, education, and naughtiness on May 11th at the Improv Asylum! The show starts at 7:30 and there will be a cash bar and special guest Jen Royle who appeared in ABC’s “The Taste” preparing and selling homemade pretzels.
“NEMPAC is very excited to partner with the Improv Asylum on this adult show. We hope to see some new faces and attract a new crowd to our programming.” -Sherri Snow, Executive Director
