Adult Beginner Piano

Adult Beginner Piano is an 8-week introductory course designed for adults ages 18+ who are interested in learning piano in a fun, supportive, and low-pressure group setting. Perfect for complete beginners as well as former students returning to the keyboard, this class focuses on building confidence while exploring the fundamentals of piano and music reading.
Students will learn basic keyboard technique, note reading, rhythm skills, and simple melodies while developing comfort and familiarity at the piano through guided instruction and hands-on playing. Class time encourages musical exploration, steady progress, and community-building in a relaxed and encouraging environment designed especially for adult learners.
Held in NEMPAC’s state-of-the-art keyboard lab at 50 Tileston Street, this class provides a welcoming introduction to piano study and a strong foundation for students interested in continuing through private lessons, group music-making, or future community ensembles.
The fall session runs September 14 – November 9, 2026 in the North End.

Adult Piano Club

Fall registration opens June 8th!
Adult Piano Club is a welcoming 8-week group class for adults ages 18+ who have completed a beginner piano class, taken private lessons, or have some prior piano experience. In a relaxed and supportive environment, participants will continue developing their skills through group playing, improvisation, creative musical activities, and engaging repertoire while exploring a variety of musical styles. Activities are adaptable for different experience levels, allowing newer and more experienced pianists to learn alongside one another while building confidence, strengthening musicianship, and continuing to grow at their own pace. Whether you’re returning to piano after time away or looking for a fun and social way to continue playing, Adult Piano Club is a wonderful place to connect with others, build confidence at the keyboard, and enjoy making music together.
