Junior Guitar Explorers
North End: Mondays at 3:25pm; Charlestown: Thursdays at 4:35pm
Age: 6-8
Fall program registration opens June 8th!
Students ages 6–8 will explore the fundamentals of guitar in a fun and supportive small-group setting designed especially for complete beginners with little or no prior musical experience. Through group activities, guided instruction, and hands-on playing, students will build confidence while developing foundational music and guitar skills.
Students will learn basic guitar technique, rhythm patterns, note reading, listening skills, and musical coordination while exploring simple melodies and songs. The class encourages creativity, collaboration, and steady musical growth through group exercises, individual support, and interactive musical activities that keep students engaged and learning at their own pace.
Class time includes a balance of review, new material, ensemble playing, and individualized attention to help students feel comfortable, challenged, and excited about making music together.
Students are required to have access to a guitar for class and home practice. Instruments are not provided.
The fall session runs September 14 – November 23, 2026 in the North End.

Youth Group Guitar

Age: 8-12

Students ages 8–12 will build foundational guitar and music skills in a fun and supportive small-group setting designed for both complete beginners and continuing students. Whether students are picking up the guitar for the first time or building on skills from previous classes, this course encourages steady growth, creativity, and confidence through hands-on music making.
Students will develop basic guitar technique, rhythm skills, note reading, listening skills, and musical coordination while learning simple melodies, chords, and songs. Through group exercises, guided instruction, and individual support, students will strengthen their musical understanding while learning how to play and collaborate with others in an encouraging environment. Returning students will also have opportunities to build on familiar concepts with more advanced exercises, songs, and ensemble activities appropriate to their level.
Class time includes a balance of review, new material, ensemble playing, and individualized attention to help students stay engaged, supported, and excited about making music together.
Students are required to have access to a guitar for class and home practice. Instruments are not provided.
