Musical Theatre Classes

NEMPAC’s Musical Theatre Program, starting with age 4 and continuing through Musical Theatre Troupe at age 14, provides students with a better understanding of how they can tell a story with their bodies, voices, and imaginations. Through games, improvisation, and rehearsals, students build their communication, public speaking, and collaboration skills. Their confidence and self-esteem grow as they participate in theatre: the perfect creative outlet to let the imagination run wild!

 

Junior Musical Theatre

North End: Mondays at 3:25pm; Charlestown: Thursdays at 4:30pm

Age: 6-8

Fall registration opens June 8th! 

Act! Sing! Dance! This next age level class prepares students ages 6-8 for our Musical Theatre Troupe. Students will participate in improvisation and acting games, use their bodies and imaginations to make characters come to life, and learn the basic techniques of singing and dancing through show tunes. *In our Winter Session this program will have a small production, and in the Spring Session students will have the opportunity to be featured performers in our mainstage musical.

The fall session runs September 14 – November 23, 2026 in the North End.

The fall session runs September 17 – November 19, 2026 in Charlestown.

Kids Musical Theatre Discovery (Ages 4-6)

Mondays at 4:10pm and Wednesdays at 3:25 PM in the North End | Tuesdays at 4:30 pm and 5:20 pm in Charlestown

Age: 4-6

Fall registration opens June 8th!

Act! Sing! Dance! This class will explore storytelling using students’ voices, bodies, and imaginations while diving into a fun theme: TBD. Our youngest thespians ages 4-6 will participate in improvisation and acting games as they explore characters, plots, and music from favorite musicals including. Characters will come alive as students use music and theatre to build confidence, creativity, and collaboration in an engaging, age-appropriate way.

The fall sessions run Mondays, September 14 – November 23, 2026  and Wednesdays, September 16 – December 2, 2026 in the North End.

Youth Musical Theatre Lab

North End: Fridays at 3:25pm; Charlestown: Thursdays at 5:45pm

Age: 8-12

Fall registration opens June 8th!

In this Broadway intensive for students ages 8-12, students meet weekly to rehearse scenes, songs, and dances from some of today’s biggest musicals as well as the classics we all know and love! This is a wonderful opportunity for budding Broadway stars to deepen their skills through individual coaching and peer feedback.
