Jessica Rucinski has studied piano since the age of six and taught since the age of twelve. She is excited to introduce students of all ages and skill levels to exciting and diverse repertoire and help them develop techniques to be strong and independent musicians.
Jessica has participated as pianist, music director, and/or coach in 15 operatic productions. These include all three Mozart-Da Ponte operas with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras as well as student and professional productions with Harvard’s opera companies and at summer festivals. She attended the Aspen Music Festival as an Opera Coaching Fellow and has been a vocal piano fellow at the Music Academy of the West. As a vocal piano fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, she served as pianist and coach for the American premiere of George Benjamin’s Written on Skin in 2013.
She is organist and music director at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist on Beacon Hill, having studied organ at the Westminster Choir College Summer Organ Institute and with Peter Sykes in Boston. Also choral singer, she has sung with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus since 2006. She completed her undergraduate coursework at Harvard this fall.
