NEMPAC’s Annual Pumpkin Painting Reimagined this Year!
Join us on Thurs. Oct 22nd for our reimagined Annual Pumpkin Painting on the Prado Fall Community Event! This year, it’s DIY PUMPKIN PAINTING & our first ever #NEMPACJazziestPumpkin Contest! This annual tradition is fun for the entire family and we welcome all to participate! The cost is $5 which includes a pumpkin and a DIY decorating kit.
To participate, stop by the Prado Studios between 2:30 and 5:30 pm on the 22nd to pick out your pumpkin and paint colors. To help us plan and because we know attendance may be different this year – please RSVP to Allie at ameek@nempacboston.org or call 617-227-2270 so we can gauge our supplies & pumpkin order! Thank you!*. Our rain date is Friday, Oct 23rd.
Also, new this year is our #NEMPACJazziestPumpkin Contest! Participate by posting a picture of your decorated pumpkin and the name of your artist to social media and tag @nempacboston and use hashtag #NEMPACJazziestPumpkin! Sherri Snow, Executive Director, has been involved in NEMPAC’s programs for over four years. Ms. Snow began at NEMPAC as the Private Music Instruction Coordinator where she founded several NEMPAC programs including the Children’s Music Theatre Troupe, the Summer and Winter Concert Series, the Group Private Instruction Program, and co-founded the Opera Project. Becoming Executive Director in February of 2013, Ms. Snow increased relationships within the community and developed partnerships with several organizations, including the Landmarks Orchestra, The Improv Asylum, the St. John Catholic School, Good Shepherd School and the Eliot Innovation School. Under her leadership, NEMPAC has growth to serve over 900 students per week through our arts programming, it has received over $40,000 in annual grant funding from government and private foundations, and has increased the overall presence of art and culture in the North End / Waterfront community. She has also encouraged the growth of NEMPAC as a “performing arts center” by increasing performance opportunities for students, instructors, and professional musicians in the Boston and New England Area.
Ms. Snow received her Master’s Degree in Opera Performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, and her Bachelors Degree in Music from Boston University. She also has three years of Corporate Finance Asset Management experience working at State Street Global in downtown Boston. In combination with her Business experience and her Artistic abilities, Ms. Snow is excited to be leading this ‘gem’ of a non-profit as a highly-established, respectable community arts organization.
