NEMPAC, Boston, Waterfront, Christopher Columbus ParkNEMPAC is partnering once again with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events this summer season to bring this exciting music program to Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park and it is FREE to the community. The series is being generously supported by many exceptional sponsors. Audiences can look forward to an appealing array of music genres and NEMPAC Faculty, Artistic Directors, and Friends Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m.

The concert series kicks off July 9th with “Songs in the Key of Broadway: A musical timeline of 42nd Street”. It will take the audience from the earliest moments of musical theatre to the blockbuster productions of today. From Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Rodgers & Hammerstein to Sondheim, Lloyd Webber, and Schwartz, it is a celebration of comedy and love with some of America’s most beloved tunes. Performers include NEMPAC favorites Lindsay Conrad and Christian Schwebler, and welcoming Reagle Music Theatre star, Lori L’Italien.

July 30th – Eight to the Bar! …And for those interested in getting their groove on, there will be a pre-concert group Swing Dance Lesson in the Park from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The swing dance lesson is appropriate for all ages and is being taught by the Boston Lindy Bomb Squad Dancers & Instructors. Gather at the front of the stage to participate!

Enjoy a Picnic Dinner Too!

NEMPAC has teamed up with RSVPicnic to provide the ultimate Thursday night experience. Picnic dinners can be purchased online and RSVPicnic team members will drop off and pick up the baskets at the park – Look for the Red Wagon!

NOTE: In the event of rain, the July 9th, 16th, and 23rd concert performances will take place at St. Stephen’s Church on Hanover Street in the North End. The July 30th performance would be rescheduled to Thursday, August 6th.
