NEMPAC is returning to the beautiful Bijou de la Vida Art Gallery for our March Concert Series Event, featuring a wine and appetizer reception, the chance to explore and enjoy a private North End Art Gallery, and the opportunity to meet the artists after the performance. The Bijou de la Vida Gallery, located in the heart of the North End, is an intimate and inspiring setting to enjoy this exciting classical program.
The performance, consisting of chamber music, will focus on temporal and spatial elements of French and Minimalist music, and the ability to heal through music. We will be exploring Mysticism and the Spiritual in music, including the fresh and intricate Three Pieces for cello and piano by Nadia Boulanger, the lyrical Lied for cello by Vincent d’Indy, Jolivet’s powerful Chant de Linos, and Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Violin and Piano. This French program will be peppered with minimalist works such as John Adams’ ‘China Gates’ for solo piano, which will create an evening of contemplation on time and space in music. The concert will feature Egle Jarkova, violin; Orlando Cela, flute; Yumi Bae, cello and Artistic Director Christina Wright-Ivanova, piano.
TICKETS: $35, includes pre-performance wine and appetizer reception.
