Jayson Banton

Voice & Piano Instructor

Jayson Banton is a tenor, educator, and graduate of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he earned a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy. He teaches voice across classical, musical theater, and contemporary commercial styles through various studio teaching roles. At the Conservatory, he served as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate pedagogy and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Voice for Non-Majors, presenting on topics including vocal cross-training, research skills, and musical theater history.

As a performer, Jayson is a rostered tenor with the American Spiritual Ensemble and has appeared with Chicago Summer Opera, Odyssey Opera, and Opera Orlando. His research, The Effects of Cross-Genre Singing on Perceived Vocal Quality in Treble Singers, was presented at the 2025 Voice Foundation Symposium and reflects his ongoing interest in cross-training.

This year, Jayson was selected for the inaugural class of the NATS Boston Mentorship Program, where he was mentored by Dr. Ian Howell.
