Sohyun Cho

Voice & Piano Instructor
Sohyun Cho is a Korean soprano and music educator based in Boston. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan. She also earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Ewha Womans University in Seoul.
As a vocalist, Cho has performed a wide range of operatic repertoire in various productions and has been engaged with professional opera organizations, including Boston Lyric Opera for its 2026–27 season. Alongside her performance career, she has extensive teaching experience in voice and piano and has taught students of diverse ages and levels at several music academies and private studios. Her pedagogical work emphasizes healthy vocal technique, musical development, and student-centered instruction, particularly for young and developing musicians.
Cho’s academic and artistic interests include vocal performance, opera, music education, and innovative approaches to vocal pedagogy. Her graduate research in music education explored the integration of STEAM-based approaches into vocal instruction. She continues to pursue a career combining performance, teaching, and music education.
