Yifei Zhou

Yifei Zhou is a vocalist, composer, and educator currently studying Jazz Voice Performance at the New England Conservatory and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.

As a bandleader, Yifei has performed widely in both the Shanghai and Boston music scenes, bringing her original work to life through cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaborations. Deeply inspired by Eastern cultures—including their music, dance, languages, and spiritual traditions—she blends these influences with jazz, classical, and experimental idioms in her compositions and improvisation.

Yifei is also an experienced educator, having taught voice, ear training, music theory, vocal ensembles, improvisation, piano, and guitar to students of all ages. Her teaching philosophy centers on helping students discover their unique musical voice and nurturing creative expression through curiosity, technique, and interpretation.
