NEMPAC was thrilled to be a part of the annual Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting on November 22nd, joining the festive celebration in one of Boston’s most iconic and historic spaces. Several of our talented students took to the stage, representing a wide range of ages and abilities, and showcasing the vibrant musical community that NEMPAC continues to nurture.

The performance opened with the NEMPAC Pop and Rock Vocal Ensemble, who energized the crowd with lively renditions of “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Wonderful Christmastime.” Two of our outstanding youth soloists then stepped into the spotlight. Stella Murray delivered a heartfelt performance of Pentatonix’s “Kid on Christmas,” followed by Blake Vunono’s playful and spirited take on the beloved classic “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.” Both soloists were beautifully accompanied on piano by Luping Xu.

The celebration continued with special performances from two of NEMPAC’s adult classes. Under the direction of Jack Byrne, the Adult Studio Guitar ensemble shared a cheerful rendition of “Jingle Bells,” and the Adult Studio Ukulele class, led by Steve Allen, brought warmth and joy to the crowd with “Feliz Navidad.” Their performances highlighted the passion and dedication of our adult students, proving that music-making truly spans all ages.

We are incredibly proud of all of our performers for representing NEMPAC with such talent, confidence, and holiday spirit. A big thank you to Faneuil Hall Marketplace for inviting NEMPAC to take part in this special community tradition and for helping us celebrate the season through music alongside our neighbors and friends.
