Monday, July 8th we launch our exciting summer session at NEMPAC. First, our full-day kids musical theatre workshop begins bright and early with music, dance, singing and of course, rehearsals for their end of the week Peter Pan production. Other workshops include, drama, ballet, find your favorite instrument and more!
Next, our R.O.C.K.S.!!!- FREE interactive music workshops begins at 1pm with a workshop on Opera! Taught by Carla Maniscalco and Lindsay Conrad, two Boston based opera singers, this workshop will introduce participants to expressing emotion through operatic themes. Participants will learn about opera and walk away humming some of opera’s most popular tunes! All workshops relate to our summer concert series performances the same week! Two workshops will be run every Monday, 1:00 pm-2:00 pm (11 and up) and 2:30-3:30 (10 and younger). See our website for all our outreach, interactive summer music workshops.
On Thursday, July 11th, we kick off our FREE Summer Concert Series on the Prado! This week is our opera concert, Grazia: a night of operatic romance in Boston’s little Italy. Some of Boston’s rising opera stars will serenade you with opera’s greatest Italian hits. Other concerts in this series include, Family night on the Prado: Songs and Secrets of the North End (July 18th), Frank Sinatra Favorites with Scott Boni ( August 1st) and Big- Band Bash with Jeremy and friends ( August 15th).
