junglebookThe Summer Music Theatre Workshop Program at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center will be putting on their own adaptation of “The Jungle Book”, based on the book by Rudyard Kipling and on the movie produced by Walt Disney Studios. The script has been adapted by the Program Coordinator and Director, Allie Meek, and her Assistant Director, Aria Sergany. Music Direction by Alexandra Dietrich and Choreography by Alexis Robbins. The production will be held at Noon on Friday July 10th at the Boston Harbor Community Church. The duration of the mini musical is about 20-25 minutes long.

The Jungle Book tells the story of Mowgli, a young boy found in the depths of the jungle and his journey from being raised by a wolf pack, to his return to his own village. His story takes us through his conflict with the Tiger, Shere Khan and his friendships with many different animals in the jungle. The production includes favorites from the movie such as “Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You” as well as some new ones!

This musical production is the culminating performance of NEMPAC’s first week of Summer Music Theatre Workshop! The workshop program is for children ages 5-11 who have been working extremely hard for only ONE week on this show! The performance is free and open to the public. Next week we’re in for a special treat for Week 2 (July 13 – 17th) performing a musical adaptation of “Where the Wild Things Are!”
