Congratulations to our October Student of the Month – Isla O’Connor! Isla was nominated by her piano instructor Luping, for her eagerness, thoughtful approach to practice, and her critical listening skills.
Luping writes, “I am pleased to nominate my piano student, Isla, for recognition. Isla has shown exceptional dedication to her piano studies, consistently arriving at lessons prepared and eager to learn. What really sets Isla apart is her thoughtful approach to practice—she not only remembers what we work on each week but also takes the time to reflect on her playing and make adjustments on her own.
One of the things I admire most about Isla is her ability to recognize when something isn’t quite right. She doesn’t wait for me to point out a mistake; instead, she listens critically and self-corrects, which shows a maturity beyond her years. Her willingness to engage with the music in such a mindful way has allowed her to make steady, meaningful progress.
Isla’s positive attitude and consistent effort make teaching her a joy. She is focused, polite, and receptive to feedback, creating a truly collaborative and rewarding learning environment. I believe Isla’s dedication and curiosity make her a perfect candidate for this recognition.”
