On behalf of our board members, faculty, and staff, we hope you and your loved ones had a very Happy Thanksgiving!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we want you to know how grateful we are for your continued support of our mission. You empower us to empower artists of all ages and abilities through our community music school and professional performing arts center.
#GivingTuesday is this week—Tuesday, December 3rd. That means you can double your impact by contributing to our annual fund, You Set the Stage.
When you donate to our campaign on or before #GivingTuesday, our board of directors will double your gift up to $18,500.
When you give to You Set the Stage, you’re helping to create the kind of community you want to live in. A community bringing neighbors together through music and performing arts. A community teaching the next generation of artists about creativity, diversity, and empowerment. And a community supporting local artists through professional performance programming.
In particular, your gift on or before #GivingTuesday will bring the following partnerships, performances, and programs to your community:
Free Annual Holiday Concert
On Wednesday, December 11, we’ll take the stage alongside our partner, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, to present Handel’s Messiah Part I, our cherished annual holiday concert. Community members will gather inside Faneuil Hall’s Great Hall to greet the season with holiday classics performed by Boston Landmarks Orchestra, featured soloists, NEMPAC Youth Choir, as well as One City Choir. Your gift allows us to bring accessibility to the arts, as this public concert is free and open to all.
Early Childhood Music Education
Here at NEMPAC, we believe we are all musicians and performers, and one of the ways we bring this belief into action is through early childhood music education. From Creative Dance and Movement Junior to Family Music Makers, our early childhood courses help babies and toddlers bond with caregivers and family members, develop intellectually, and practice fine motor skills. Your annual fund contribution empowers us to create new early childhood music education offerings, ensuring that as the youngest among us take their first steps, they also take their first steps forward as artists.
Programming Expansion to Charlestown
We’re bringing our private and group music instruction, as well as music education courses, to another Boston neighborhood—Charlestown. As it currently stands, our community music school brings arts education to more than 1,400 students per week. Your donation advances our programmatic expansion to Charlestown and funds the NEMPAC Music Theatre Troupe’s spring 2020 production of Frozen Junior at Charlestown High School.
New School Partnership with Boston Latin Academy
In the New Year, Boston Latin Academy will become our seventh school sponsor as we collaborate with the educational institution to bring vocal instruction to its middle-school students. Our caring, creative team of faculty will develop curated voice curriculum and deliver choral instruction at the academy. Your support will give teens at Boston Latin Academy the chance to find their voices onstage and in their neighborhoods.
6th Annual Perform-a-thon
Our beloved fundraiser, NEMPAC’s Perform-a-thon, serves as a student and faculty showcase of sorts, as these artists take the stage to raise monies for our need-based youth scholarship fund. Your annual fund gift makes it possible for us to host our Perform-a-thon, helping to ensure that all youth—regardless of socioeconomic status—have access to high-quality music education.
New Headquarters at 48-50 Tileston Street
This past summer, we were named the developer of the North End’s 48-50-Tileston Street by Mayor Walsh and the City of Boston. We’re humbled by the extraordinary generosity of city government. This generosity will allow us to grow with the needs of our community and acquaint even more community members with the transformative power of music and performing arts. Your annual fund contribution will provide the capital and resources needed to renovate 48-50 Tileston Street into a state-of-the-art performing arts center for artists of all ages and abilities.
#GivingTuesday is this Tuesday, December 3. That means the time is now to double your impact when you contribute to our campaign.
Will you donate today to bring new partnerships, performances and programs to your community to ensure #MusicForAll?
