We are happy to announce that NEMPAC will host a 2017 Spring Community Choir, led by our wonderful NEMPAC instructor Jaime Castellanos! We are excited to continue the community choir tradition after a wonderful Holiday Choir season this past fall with a mix of popular, cultural, and contemporary music, perfect for celebrating Springtime in the North End, and with a final performance at the Boston Public Market at our NEMPAC Performathon on April 8th! The Spring Choir is a fun and low-stress way to spend time with your Community, while enjoying music making with your family and friends.

NEMPAC Spring Community Choir
Rehearsals: Four Sundays – March 12, March 19, March 26, and April 2nd. (We ask that families try their best to make it to three out of four rehearsals)
Time: 5:00 – 5:45 p.m.
Cost: $50 per family – It is required that families bring payment to their first rehearsal.
Ages: 4 and up – Under 8 accompanied by a caregiver.
Director: Jaime Castellanos
Final Performance: Saturday, April 8th – NEMPAC Performathon at the Boston Public Market.
Time: Between 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (exact time TBD).
This fun all-ages choir will practice skills such as vocal technique, warm-ups, reading simple choral music, and singing together in a group. No experience is necessary to join. We may even throw in some two-part harmony! The Spring Community Choir will be led by the talented Jaime Castellanos, NEMPAC voice instructor. We ask that families do their best to make three out of the four rehearsals. From classics like John Lennon’s “Imagine” to more contemporary hits, we will be singing catchy tunes while having fun the whole family can enjoy – perfect for spending time with old friends and new in the North End community. Participants will be asked to bring their payment to the first rehearsal (cash or check) and to fill out a consent form upon arrival.
To Register: Simply email info@nempacboston.org with the names and ages of all participants, and you will be added to our family sign-up list! All future communications to families that have signed up will be sent via email, so be sure to include your preferred email. The deadline to register is March 5th.
